We do a lot of work in Clinton Township for animal or bird control services. However our most recent job in Clinton Twp., MI was a bat exclusion. Customer called with a bat in the house. This is typical for the month of August. Bats find there way into many homes during the late summer months. This is due to maternity bat season. You will find colonies of bats in the attic or in the fireplace. This job happened to have bats living in the chimney.
Much like bats in the attic, bats in the chimney or fireplace have to be excluded the same way. The only difference sometimes is we have to do a temporary fix until the masonry crew can fix the chimney for good. We will temporary put some todol pure black foam in the loose mortar joints and install our one way bat doors over the hole. After a week or so we can come back out and remove the one way doors. Once the bats have been evicted the bricks on the chimney will be permanently fixed.
